PearlPerri Studio & Productions is happy to showcase our wonderful, dedicated photographer, Richard Jones. Read his autobiography here:
“When I was a pre-teen in the late 1950’s, I received my first camera – a Kodak Brownie that took 120 roll film – which I used to record occasional family activities. It wasn’t until I was in college at SUNY Albany that my interest in photography took hold. My British roommate had, at the time, bought an early Minolta SR series camera from a photographer friend in Troy, NY. I saw what he was doing with the body, flash, and several prime lenses and was inspired to purchase my own equipment… haven’t looked back since!
First, I bought a Kodak Retina III relfex camera, and with that simple device, recorded my Summer (1970) in Germany – spent with a group of SUNY students who attended the Goethe Institute in Kochel am See… Fell in love with travel photography!
The following year I was stationed with the US Army in Eschwege, Germany as an MI Interrogator on the former East/West German border. I immediately went into the PX in Bad Hersfeld and came away with my own Minolta SRT-101 camera, flash and several prime lenses – which I proceeded to use in the course of my missions as a liaison officer on the border – taking extensive photos of East German border fortification efforts.
Hereafter, I could not put a camera down, taking jobs with two major photography corporations… PCA International, Inc (a volume department store family photography outfit), and later, with Lifetouch (a high volume school photography company). With PCA I gained experience photographing very young children, and with Lifetouch all things school related with emphasis on the 12th grade graduation senior, plus general candids of classroom activities, sports and dances. I received a well rounded education in portrait and event photography, Now, having retired five years ago from Lifetouch, I still contract with them, doing candids – BUT, I still desire to learn new things and thus have taken a keen interest in “Fine Art Photography”.
This interest has led me to team up with PearlPerri, to create PearlPerri Studio & Productions – which goes way beyond just portraits – to specialize in glamour, fine art, and erotic photography – three genres that invite exploration of ones inner soul – through the medium of photography. Artistic lighting and background combinations, artful posing with and without clothing – and interesting props, combine to create delightful, thought provoking images that are sure to please you and those you love!”
